Students get expert career guidance at DLDAV school fair

NEW DELHI: Experts and counselors interacted with students of classes X to XII on the importance of making the right career choice at the two-day education fair ‘Infinitum 2017’ organized by DLDAV Model School, Shalimar Bagh.

Principal Reena Rajpal motivated the learners to enhance their skill levels as qualification alone won’t help them to excel.

Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, deputy dean, Dean of Student’s Welfare, Delhi University briefed the students about the courses, colleges and eligibility criteria at DU. He also busted various myths related to the debates on “college versus course selection”.Geetanjali Kumar, trainer, parenting coach and motivational speaker and also national resource person for Nationwide Adolescent Education Program (AEP) run by Ministry of Human Resource and Development motivated children to believe in themselves and choose a career that they are best suited for rather than following their peer group blindly. She also educated the students on non-conventional careers.

Pawan Solanki, a career counselor, guided the students about options for studying abroad as well as higher education within India.

The students and parents also gathered information and advice from the official representatives of various Indian and foreign universities who participated in the fair.

 The second day saw the students getting insights on professional courses available after Class XII which was followed by individual online testing of the students’ aptitude.
